Yamaha's Motorcycle Sales Plummet on Debt Crisis

Yamaha Motor Co., the world's second-largest motorcycle maker, said sales in North America and Europe may fall twice as much as forecast as a spreading debt crisis damps demand. The shares fell the most in three months.

Honda to cut motorcycle prices by 10 years

Baby boomers seems to be in short supply in Japan too. Worried about declining interest in motorcycles among young Japanese, Honda Japan aims to cut domestic motorcycle prices to year 2000 levels in a bid to attract new customers. According to Honda, prices will drop by 10 to 30 percent.

Honda supports UK's largest ever motorcycle open day

Honda (UK) and many of its motorcycle dealers will be joining forces with the ‘Get On’ campaign this weekend to support Britain’s largest ever biking open day, on Saturday 19 June, when motorcycle dealers throughout the country will be welcoming existing and potential bikers into their showrooms for the launch of the national ‘Get On’ campaign - which aims to get Britain biking.

Suzuki brings to India two new sports bikes

suzuki Motorcycle India last week launched the superbikes GSX-R1000 and Bandit1250S in India. The GSX-R1000 has a new chassis with a shorter wheelbase, and a longer swingarm.

2011 Kawasaki KX250F introduction 

With more than 30 changes for 2011, including digital fuel injection (DFI) and the industry’s most advanced front suspension design, the KX250F is the 250-class four-stroke to be on in 2011.

New Kawasaki ZX-10R to land in Europe late August 

Kawasaki’s sharper new ZX-10R will touch down in Europe for the first time in late August, with your first chance to see it being at the Nurburgring WSB round on 5 September, MCN believes.

The presentation will be part of Kawasaki’s onging attempt to convince the world THIS time it means WSB business, a campaign which began when it debuted the bike in a public test at Suzuka last week.

But the sense of purpose around the new Ninja isn’t just marketing hype – around 10 of the firm’s top engineers (and MotoGP refugees) have formed a new department within the company focused solely on WSB.  

This team has led development of the new bike, with the roadbike division playing a secondary role – a reversal of the normal situation for any Japanese firm.
